Lake Chelan

boat-in-lakeLake Chelan is a 55 mile long pristine body of water located in North Central Washington.  Its narrow length stretches from deep in the forested wilderness of the North Cascade Mountains to the desert terrain of the of the Columbia River's edge.

Walled by towering mountains for most of its length, it forms the deepest gorge in North America; deeper than the Grand Canyon!

The Lake Chelan area is a recreation paradise.  Things to do abound year-round.  The summer season offers swimming, sailing, water skiing, and many other lake activities.  The City of Chelan offers a large RV park, a huge waterfront park system, mini golf, basketball courts, a skate park, and other inducements for family fun.  And there is a bowling alley right across the street from the park!

Slidewaters water park, the Lady of the Lake dock, Chelan Seaplanes, watercraft rentals and more are all located within walking distance of the Lake Chelan Hydroplanes office.

LCW200In the winter, the area abounds with endless snowmobile trails.  The Echo Valley Ski Area is close by offering downhill skiing and a tubing area.  Just past the ski resort is Echo Ridge.  It offers cross-country skiing and snowshoeing opportunities on miles of groomed and ungroomed trails.  The area is also open in the other seasons for hiking and mountain biking enjoyment.

The wine industry has been maturing in Lake Chelan and the area now has many wineries offering great local wines, food, and entertainment.  Wine tours and sightseeing tours are available year-round.
